The Raw Truth On Being A Successful Live Streamer- As told by EllieBella

First of all, not many people like the way they look or sound on camera. If you’re anything like me, your first couple of streams will feel like the first day at a new school or job, a little awkward. Once you meet a few people, that feeling goes away!

It took a bit for me to earn the trust of my fans. Keeping a schedule really helps me make sure no one misses out on the fun! I always go live at 7PM CST, 7 days a week!

SOCIAL MEDIA is so important! Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, Emails, or texts – Share your broadcasts with anyone you can! Exposure is a good thing.

Being camera ready sounds so cliche, but it doesn’t hurt.

Don’t get me wrong, I have my pj’s with a messy bun streams. Though most of my streams I try to look as put together as I can without going too crazy.

Don’t be scared! Everyone is terrified of saying the wrong thing, tripping over a cord, or stubbing their toe. It’s natural to be nervous, it’s live!

Ellie advice– brush off any fear you may have. My fans see me on my good days and my bad days. I’ve had countless of embarrassing moments. It’s all about rolling with the punches and being able to laugh at yourself too.

My moderators are my everything! Not only do they know what kind of phrases I don’t appreciate, they know me. We chat throughout the stream & I’m not having to key out any trouble makers on my own. Find a few users you can trust and you’re chat will run nice and smooth with the extra hands on deck.

Equipment.. Would you honestly believe me if I told you that I made my first $500 dollars streaming off of my phone? Stepping it up on my PC with a few very helpful items definitely did a lot for my broadcasts, but if your starting out with a decent phone, don’t fret, below are some helpful (and affordable) streaming must haves.

Everyone says this, even I was a skeptic when I first got on my own live stream, BE YOURSELF. Nothing at all has gotten me farther than being absolutely and completely me. I’m goofy, I tell stories, we play games, raffles, I laugh at myself even before others can. Your confidence will shine so much brighter than any persona. Going live as YOU means you never have to fake it. I promise, your fans will love you more for it.

Have a little space you like to stream at. I can stream anywhere on my phone, but when I like to settle in, I have a spot that I call my “broadcast corner”. It’s set up with a backdrop and all the things I need to have fun on my stream are within reach!

5 minutes! Every streamer needs to hop off screen for a few moments every once in a while. If you put up a sign while you’re gone, you’re fans know you’re coming right back!

Commit to your live and your fans. I have a passion for streaming. Meeting people virtually and letting them get to know who I am while I learn about them is special to me. Showing that you’re passionate about what your doing & being consistent can take you a long way.

It’s not over when the camera is off. I am in contact with my fans and other streamers all the time! Social media gives me a way to let my fans know whats going on with me and my daily life.

There is no secret code or algorithm. Trust me, I’ve spent countless hours trying to figure this one out. Streaming live is taking a chance on yourself and showing the world what your made of! There is no recipe for that.
